When the sales team brought in an RFP from Liquid IV, the timing was tricky. The client was gearing up for a limited edition flavor launch tied to Spider-Man: Brand New Day — but with the film unreleased and co-branded packaging nowhere to be found, there was nothing to actually design with.
The format requested was the In-Screen Expandable Corner, a strong performer on mobile but notoriously tight on real estate. That constraint shaped everything.
With no collab assets available, the approach leaned on Liquid IV's existing flavor imagery as a stand-in, supplemented by license-free imagery sourced online and brought together through traditional photo compositing. The design had to work twice as hard to hint at the Spider-Man partnership without being able to show it outright. The initial state used a scrolling interaction to cycle flavors in and out of frame, with the Spider-Man costume woven in subtly as a backdrop. The reveal came on expansion — Spider-Man swinging into frame, co-branded packaging in hand — giving users a reason to engage and the campaign the dramatic moment it deserved.
The demo activated new meetings with the client.
